I started taking photos in high school with my mom’s 20 year old Canon Camera, and fell in love with photography fast. Though my high school offered no photography classes, what they did have was an outdated, hidden, dusty darkroom that hadn’t been used in over a decade. With the help of the high school librarian, I was able to clean it up and get it running again. It was with her guidance and support that I developed my skill set and eventually decided to pursue photography as a career. From there I went to the School of Visual Arts in NYC to pursue my BFA in Photography. After graduating college, I worked in the photo department of a popular woman’s magazine and though I enjoyed the editorial world, I was tired of the city life. It was then that I decided to return to my roots in Vermont.
The one thing I didn’t consider with the move is there would be far less jobs available, so I took the opportunity to branch out and follow another interest of mine, veterinary medicine and animal welfare. I then lived in the Burlington area for 10 years working primarily in the veterinary and animal welfare fields while doing freelance photography on the side. It was when I met my (now) husband who is a Realtor that I started to develop a love for architecture and interior photography. He hired me for my first Real Estate photo shoot 10 years ago and sparked an interest in this path for me. As my client list grows, so does my passion for architecture and design. As a result of high demand, in August of 2014 I transitioned to full time architecture and real estate photography work and couldn’t be more excited.
